Jewel L. Bardwell Mr. Jewel L. Bardwell, age 88, of Atlanta, Ga., passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2007. Mr. Bardell was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis W. and Minnie M. Bardwell and sister, Thelma Bardwell Morton. Mr. Bardwell was born March 11, 1919, in Harrison County, Texas. He was a World Ward II Army veteran. He was a retired sales engineer with St. Regis Paper Company in Atlanta, Ga., with 27 years of service. He was a former Boy Scout Leader. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Atlanta where he was a former Sunday School teacher. Mr. Bardwell was a former member and deacon of Beecher Hills Baptist Church, Atlanta. He was a member of Blairsville First Baptist Church in Blairsville, Ga. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Doris ABardwell of Atlanta; daughters and sons-inlaw, Sue B. and Walker Pelot of Buford, Ga., Donna B. and Ronald D. Bailey of Dawsonville, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Carol Bardwell of Young Harris, Ga.; grandchildren, Denise and Blake McRae, Curtis and Lisa Bardwell, Jennifer and Matt Glover, Carmen and Justin Daniel, Matthew and Amber Pelot and Jonathan Pelot; seven great grandchildren; sisters and brother-inlaw, Joyce B. Weiner of Ft. Pierce, Fla., June Grayson Williams and husband, Leslie of Shreveport, La., and Essie Pearl Burton Bardwell, also of Shreveport; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Internment followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Atlanta.
