Ware Chevrolet gives to Community Council

Max Ware Chevrolet has made a generous gift to the "Partners in Service" Campaign of the Community Council of the GMRE Center. The announcement was made by Max Ware, owner of the dealership. "Pauline and I and our family are pleased to continue our support of the work of the Community Council. The Council's programs and projects are benefiting our customers in the region and we appreciate it," said Ware.

Max Ware Chevrolet is a full-service dealership carrying the entire line of Chevrolet automobiles and trucks. The only dealership in Union County, it is noted for its large inventory of dependable Chevy trucks. The dealership, which Ware has owned and operated since 1978, is a family affair with James Shope serving as Sales Manager and Tammy Ware Shope as Office Manager.

In acknowledging the gift, Council member Francis McDowall said, "We are grateful to Max and his family for their generous support. They have been partners with us in service to the region from the very beginning. We value their friendship and support."

The Community Council emphasizes education enrichment experience for students, outreach seminars and workshops for adults and preservation projects important to our mountain region. In the recently concluded 2006-2007 academic year, it served 2,700 students from Union, Fannin, Towns and Clay Counties while conducting six preservation projects including an exciting Plant Rescue Project. In its three years of operation, the Council has served over 9,600 students and adults.
