Applications available for Youth Leadership Union

The Blairsville-Union County Chamber of Commerce and Appalachian Community Bank are proud to sponsor Youth Leadership Union 2007. The program has been developed to provide training to the county's youth for the future leadership and well being of the community. The mission of Youth Leadership Union is to develop the knowledge and leadership skills of young people in Union County so they may confidently become our leaders of tomorrow.

Youth Leadership Union is open to sophomore and junior students of Union County High School and Woody Gap School. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding qualities as potential leaders and possess the desire to effect change in their community. The students will be selected based upon a written application as well as an interview with the selection committee.

The program will take place from September 11 to October 11. Sessions will be held once a week for five weeks. Proposed topics include understanding leadership, teambuilding, motivation, dress and interview, and public speaking.
