Hudler takes over Rotary

The Rotary Club of Union County held their annual Banquet recently at the North Georgia Technical College in Blairsville. The annual meeting is to recognize some of the outstanding Rotarians in the club as well as installing new Officers including the 2007- 2008 President Michelle Hudler. Bob Ramey's term as President ended as he handed the gavel over to Michelle and wished her all the best during her rain as President.
Awards were given to several club members including Mike Priven who was awarded "Rotarian of the Year" for his outstanding commitment and service to the community and for kicking off the Union County Anti Drug Coalition. Other Rotarians were recognized for their dedication and commitment to serving the community.
Bob Ramey also recognized Tom Murphy who was announced as an Honorary member of the Rotary club. Tom recently retired from the Union County Development Authority and has been a Rotarian for 30 plus years.
Bob Ramey passed the gavel to the incoming President Michelle Hudler, and she announced that she has plans of continuing the great leadership and community goals and plans that Bob had set into motion.
The Union County Rotary Club has several community projects that are planned for the 2007- 2008 year.
The Rotary Club of Union County has special guest speakers every week with a wide variety of interesting topics covering local, state, national, and international subjects.
The Rotary Club of Union County meets every Thursday at Cobb's Mill Restaurant in Blairsville.
