Hiawassee Town Square Concert

The Old Mill Road String Band will enliven the Hiawassee Town Square this Saturday, July 21, from 6-8 p.m.. A bluegrass band from Cartersville, GA., they merge bluegrass songs with sounds of folk, country, pop and rock. The band got their start in 2006. Three of the four members work for the Cartersville School System. When they discovered each other's talent, it was only natural to meet after work and pick a few tunes. They have performed at coffeehouses, Bluegrass Festivals, civic events, weddings and music cafes. The band consists of Brad Payne (vocals and guitar), Brad Burel (vocals and mandolin), Sheryl McDonald (vocals and fiddle), and Stan Pinion (bass.)

So bring your lawn chairs or blanket, your family and friends, and the family pet (on a leash, please, and with clean-up materials!)

Ice cream, hot dogs and beverages will be for sale, as well as concert Tshirts. Music on the Square is produced by the OTM Committee, Inc., a nonprofit group dedicated to bringing music and events to Towns County.
