Irons In The Fire at the Folk School Folk, country, pop and original music will be featured in a free concert by Irons In The Fire at The John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. at 7:30 pm on Friday, July 20. The concert will be held in the Festival Barn, but those attending are urged to park near Keith House or the Dining Hall and walk to the Festival Barn where there will be only a limited number of handicapped parking spaces available. In the barn there is hay bale seating, so audience members may wish to bring a lawn chair for comfort. Admission is free. Irons In The Fire is a North Georgia/Western North Carolina-based group that has been performing and recording since the mid-1980s. Two of the group's founders, Rob Tiger of Hayesville, NC and Dave Peters of Murphy, NC, have won numerous songwriting competitions including the Georgia Music Showcase and Nashville?s prestigious BMI Songwriters' Showcase. Both were honored in the 1995 Louisville Songwriters' Competition and Rob Tiger won an additional award in a songwriting contest sponsored by Now and Then Magazine. Other group members include vocalists Rebekah Scott and Jessilyn Knight, lead guitarist Tony Trout, mandolin and banjo player, David Brose and bassist Perry Stalcup. Irons In The Fire has several CDs including The Kudzu Zone, All Over the Road and their latest, Small Towns. Upcoming concert series performers at the Folk School include dulcimer players Bonnie Carol, Anne Lough, Jeff Sebens and Bill Taylor (July 27) and singer and autoharpist Bryan Bowers (Aug. 10).
