Miss Georgia Mountain Fair Junior Pageants The Georgia Mountain Fair is looking for contestants to participate in this year's Miss Georgia Mountain Fair Junior Pageants, held Monday, July 23 in Anderson Music Hall from 2-5 p.m. Applicants must be between the ages of 3 and 18 and will compete in appropriate age divisions. To apply to the Miss Georgia Mountain Fair Junior Pageants and to review the official rules and regulations, visit www.GeorgiaMountainFairgrou nds.com. Select 2007 Events on the homepage, click the Miss Georgia Mountain Fair link and download the Junior application. The Georgia Mountain Fair, now in its 57th year, is a landmark event for the mountain community of Hiawassee and takes place July 18 - 29. From carnival rides, educational demonstrations, pony rides and a juried arts & crafts show near the Pioneer Village to entertaining musical performances, agricultural and antique shows and the ever-popular Miss Georgia Mountain Fair Pageants, there is truly something for everyone. Miss Georgia Mountain Fair Junior Pageants- July 23, 2007 Age Divisions Miss GMF Princess- Ages 3- 5 2:00pm Miss GMF Sweetheart- Ages 6-8 2:45pm Miss GMF Pre-Teen- Ages 9-11 3:30pm Miss GMF Jr. Teen-Ages 12- 14 4:15pm Miss GMF Teen-Ages 15-18 5:00pm Cost-$40.00 Miss Photogenic-$15.00 Official Rules and Regulations: Contestants must compete in their appropriate age division. Contestants should wear age appropriate pageant dress or Sunday best. There are no parents allowed backstage. No exceptions!!! There will be assistants backstage helping your child. All contestants are expected to walk across stage by themselves. If they struggle or get confused the MC will help them. Ages 3-11 are not allowed to wear make-up. Clear lip gloss is all that is acceptable. If make-up is seen by the judges, points will be deducted. Ages 12-18 are allowed to wear make-up but it should be age appropriate. The decision of the judges is final. Score sheets will not be released or discussed with anyone. There will be a Queen in each category with a first and second runner up, plus a Miss Photogenic. Photogenic pictures must be turned in at Pageant rehearsal. Pictures should be no smaller than a 4x6 and no larger than an 8x10. Pageant rehearsal will be Monday, July 16th. Age's 3-8 rehearsal will begin at 5:30pm. Age's 9-18 rehearsal will begin at 7:00pm. Make sure you bring your pageant shoes to rehearsal. Pageant rehearsal is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged. If your child does not make rehearsal, they will miss important information on walking the stage, standing, turns, etc. Only 15 contestants are allowed per category. Contestants of Miss GMF must be single. Contestants who have been married or have children are not allowed to compete. Contestants who have won Miss GMF previously can not compete in the same category or age division they previously won. |
