Chase Elliott continues to dominate in Colorado Sprint Championship Series

Chase Elliott, who drives in the Bill Elliott Racing Driver Development program for his legendary father, is pulling away from the field in not one, but two divisions of the Colorado Sprint Championship Series (CSCS). Eleven-yearold Elliott competes in both the Mini Max and 80cc Novice Shifter Kart divisions and has won all feature events he has entered in 2007 driving for Billet Racing. Elliott, who also drives the No. 9 ABF Bandolero Bandit in the Thursday Thunder Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway, makes the commute between the family's homes in Georgia and Colorado to participate in both series.

To say that Elliott has dominated this season is an understatement. In the Mini Max division he has led all practices, captured all poles, and won all heat and feature events. In the 80cc Novice Shifter Kart division, in which Elliott faces older competition, the youngster has been first or second in all practices, qualifying runs and heat races and, more impressively, has won both feature events. It comes as no surprise that Elliott is leading the championship standings in both divisions. He leads the field by 25 points in the Mini Max division and 20 in the 80cc Novice Shifter Kart field.

"I'm having a great time racing in the Colorado Sprint Championship series," says Elliott. "Barry Lewis and the Billet Racing team have given me a great opportunity, and I'm proud of the season we're having so far. Running here gives me extra experience that I can use in my Bandolero car, too. I'm just trying to have fun, and hopefully we'll keep this good run going all season!"

The younger Elliott is no stranger to victory in the CSCS. In 2006 he also competed in both the Mini Max and Shifter Kart divisions, marking his first full season of racing. In prior years, Elliott had competed in various races across northern Georgia but never consistently or for any titles. Last year, at the age of ten, Elliott captured the championship in the Mini Max division and finished an impressive third in his Shifter Kart.

The third of five CSCS races will be held at The Track at Centennial on July 15, 2007, in Centennial, Colorado.

Elliott and his cousin, 18- year-old Trey Poole, drive in the Bill Elliott Racing Driver Development program based in Dawsonville, Georgia. Both racers compete in the Atlanta Motor Speedway Thursday Thunder Series in the Bandolero Bandits and Legends Semi-Pro divisions, respectively.
