Jazz Night on the Square!

One of the most popular and well-attended concerts of the Season is back! From 6-8 p.m. this Saturday, June 30, the Hiawassee Square will be filled with the memorable jazz sounds from years gone by, as well as a few contemporary numbers. Eric Glazier, on saxophone, is a musical phenomenon. He will be accompanied by musicians on drums and keyboard. Jerry LeValley has graciously consented to a return visit to the Square, to croon a few Sinatra songs, and take us back to a simpler, more "romantic" era! The Vintage Notes will sing some wonderful oldies, with their beautiful harmonies and humor.

The OTM Committee, as well as the entire Towns County community was deeply saddened by the loss of our "star" Jazz Night performer, the indomitable Joe Leone, who "tickled those ivories" with style and gusto. Joe passed away (at age 92!!) only months after he performed for us on the Square last Summer. We will ALL miss you, Joe. His daughter, our own JoAnne Leone will emcee the evening in honor of her Dad.

So please don't miss this heartwarming evening. Bring your folding chair or blanket, your family and friends and your family pet (on a leash please, and with "pooper scooper" clean-up equipment.)

Ice cream and hot dogs will be for sale, along with Concert t-shirts. Enchanted Music on the Square is produced by the OTM Committee, Inc.,a nonprofit group dedicated to bringing music and entertainment events to Towns County. Concert schedules will be available at the t-shirt table. Call 706-896-4988 after 2 p.m. to see if weather has canceled the concert.
