Robert Dean Ellis

Mr. Robert (better known as Bob) Dean Ellis, 71, of Souther Farm Rd., Blairsville, Ga., and also of Sunny Drive Donalsville, Ga., died Monday, June 11, 2007 at his home in Blairsville following an extended illness.

Mr. Ellis was born June 12, 1935 in Emeigh, Pa., the son of the late Clarence Ellis Sr. and the late Marion Gentles Ellis. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, serving in both the Korean and Vietnan Wars. He received over 18 medals and awards while in the military. He loved his God and his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ellis; and brothers, Jack and Charlie Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a member of Reynolds Chapel Methodist Church in Donalsville.

Surviving Mr. Ellis is his loving wife of 14 years, Betty Jean Johnson Ellis of Blairsville and Donalsville; sons and daughter-inlaw, Bob Ellis Jr. of Henderson, Nev., Michael Ellis of Austin, Texas, David and Ann Ellis of Arlington, Texas; step sons and

daughters-in-law, Alan and Nancy Woods of Fayettville, Ga., Tommy and Brenda Woods of Thomasville, Ga., Gary and Heather Woods of Dacula, Ga.; sister and brother-inlaw, Phyllis and Dan Schmidt of Youngstown, Ohio; brothers and sisters-inlaw, Herbert and Susie Ellis of Crourgarville, Texas; grandchildren, Kati, Cory, Kenny, Delaney, Sydney and Micaela; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Services for Mr. Ellis were held Friday, June 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Reynolds Chapel Methodist Church in Donalsville with the Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in Mr. Ellis's memory.I nterment will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.
