Family Fun for Fourth of July

If your family is looking for a fun and festive way to celebrate the Fourth of July, join the staff at Amicalola Falls State Park during their All American Happy Days event on June 30th & July 1st. In addition to popular summer activities such as hiking, fishing, volleyball, and horseshoe pitching, the programming staff has planned a schedule full of games, contests, and programs. The Amicalola Owls will entertain and educate during "Red, White, & Whooo" on Saturday. Test your skills with relay races, team games, the watermelon seed-spitting contest, or the famous greased-pole climb.

Relax on the star-spangled hayride, or discover treasures on the red, white, and blue scavenger hunt! Enjoy our purple mountains' majesty with a patriotic mountaintop concert by the Yonah Brass Ensemble on Saturday evening.

Amicalola Falls State Park is the site of the state's highest waterfall, one of Georgia's Seven Natural Wonders. The Lodge at Amicalola Falls serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a Seafood Buffet Friday night, Prime Rib Buffet Saturday night, and Sunday Brunch Buffet. The park is located on Highway 52 between Dahlonega and Ellijay. All programs are free of charge; however, a $3 parking fee applies. For more information, call (706) 265 - 1969. Georgia's state parks are operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
