Teas from the Heart hosts young mothers

(l-r) Heather Moyer, Lisa Keating, Amy Murray, volunteer Paulette Dozier, and Tori Kelly .
Teas from the Heart, a faith-based, community ministry, recently held a tea for mothers of young children. The ladies listened to the wisdom of grandmothers and exchanged their experiences of birth and early child care.

One of the young mothers, Mrs. Melissa Cheeks of Hayesville, N.C., provided vocal music that tugged at the heart strings of the recent moms. Hiawassee, Ga, resident, Marcene Friedley, retired Area Director for Joni Earekson Tada and Friends of Florida, shared humorous and moving stories. She related some of her parental mistakes and triumphs. Mrs. Fridley emphasized the need of adhering to the principles of God's word when rearing children.

Numerous volunteers assisted with the tea which began with a tuxedoed escort into the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kennith Ott of Hiawassee and ended with smiles and spiritual encouragement. The tea was a delightful respite for the young moms before returning to their motherly duties and waiting children.
