Want to be a Nun?

Auditions for Blue Ridge Community Theater's production of Nunsense will be held Tuesday, June 26th and Thursday June 28th with callbacks on Friday June 29th from 6-8:30pm. Auditions will be held at the theater located at 11 Mountain St. Blue Ridge, GA, Hampton Square, on the corner of First St. and Mountain Street, next door to Blue Jeans Restaurant. Those auditioning will be asked to perform a comic monologue and sing at least 16 measures from a stage musical. An accompanist will be provided.

The cast of Nunsense is comprised of five women (all ages) playing nuns. You must be at least 16 years of age to audition. Cast members must be available for rehearsals from July 11-Aug 23. Performances will be August 24-26, Aug. 31- Sept 2, Sept.7-9, and Sept. 14-16. We are also in need of musicians, including piano, bass guitar and woodwinds.

Nunsense, written by Dan Goggin, is the hysterically funny musical hit that won the Outer Critics' Circle awards for best Off-Broadway musical and for Best Book and Best Music. Nunsense is a uproarious talent show staged by five survivors of the Little Sisters of Hoboken nunnery, after the rest of the sisters died from food poisoning after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia, Child of God.

The remaining nuns parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise funds so that the last four of the dearly departed can be buried.Nunsense offers a cornucopia of hilarity for everyone, proving conclusively that nun rhymes with fun.
