Two named to Dean's List at YHC Dr. John W. Wells, President of Young Harris College, is proud to announce that Michael Robert Marshall and Eleanor Lippincott Knox McTyre have been named to the Young Harris College Dean's List for Spring Semester 2007. Students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or better are eligible to be named to the Dean's List. Mike is the son of Gary and Heather Marshall of Dahlonega, Georgia, and grandson of Bob and Jan Harvey of Blairsville,Georgia. He has earned Dean's List status each of the four semesters of his attendance at Young Harris College. Mike was recognized for his academic achievements during the recent Young Harris College Honors Night Ceremony, held April 23, when he received the following award: A freshman at Young Harris College, Ellie is a graduate of Union County High School. She is the daughter of Tobin McTyre of Blairsville, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Eleanor Plumbo of St. Simons Island, Georgia, and Richard McTyre of Blairsville, Georgia. Ellie was also named to the Fall Semester 2006 Dean's List. Ellie was recognized during the recent Young Harris College Honors Night Ceremony, held April 23, when she was appointed to the 2007-2008 Young Harris College Honor Council. The Honor Council of Young Harris College promotes academic integrity. Who's Who in American Junior Colleges - students are selected by faculty vote and must meet the following qualifications: students must have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours, have a minimum academic average of 3.5, never have been on conduct probation, and must show evidence of good citizenship, participation and leadership in academic and extracurricular activities, and general promise of future usefulness to society. |
