NARFE supports Alzheimer's research The Brasstown Bald chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday June 12th at Cobbs Mill Restaurant in Blairsville at noon. All current or retired federal workers, their spouses or survivors, are welcome to come, share ideas and focus on the future. NARFE's main goal is serving and protecting the earned rights and benefits of all federal retirees, employees and survivors. And to support legislation beneficial to current and potential annuitants and to oppose legislation contrary to their interests. NARFE is involved in charitable works such as Alzheimer' s research having set a goal of donating 7 million dollars by 2007 and so far 6.8 million dollars have been raised toward that goal with still seven more months to go. NARFE has a scholarship program for Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step children of all current members. NARFE has a disaster relief program to help members in a time of need. Both these programs are administered by the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund.
