Michael Ray Dyer

Mr. Michael Ray Dyer, 55, of Tanyard St., Blairsville, Ga., died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home following a brief illness.

Mr. Dyer was born March 19, 1952 in Union County, Ga., the son of the late John Franklin Dyer and the late Ida Rose Nix Dyer. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Buddy Ramsey. Mr. Dyer attended Pine Top Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Dyer are daughter and son-in-law, Layla and Jeremy Pate of Gainesville; sisters and brothers in-law, Dorothy and Eugene Dyer of Blairsville, Lavada and Rachel Wilson of Blairsville, Paulette Ramsey of Cumming, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Olene Dyer, Crett and Merlor Dyer, Wayne and Vietta Mae Dyer, Russell and Edith Dyer, all of Blairsville; grandchildren, Danielle and Madison San Nichols; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Dyer and Rev. Lloyd Ledford officiating. Special music was presented by the Dennis Taylor family. Pallbearers were Kenny, Scott, and Tim Dyer, Calvin and Max Hood, John Nix and Jeremy Pate. Interment followed in the Pine Top Baptist Church Cemetery.
