Blairsville School of Dance

The competitive clogging team at Blairsville School of Dance, the Highland Precision Cloggers, took first in three categories at the Dance Maytrix Clogging Competition in Gatlinburg, Tenn., on May 19. The team competed in Traditional Line, Precision and Hoedown and walked away with first place in all three categories. In addition, they won Grand Champion in the Precision category. The eight member group has only been together since January but has worked at a remarkable pace to learn their routines. They are currently working on two new routines for their next competition on July 7 in Charleston, S.C. As a result of their win in Gatlinburg, they have been invited to attend the Showdown of Champions competition in January 2008.
