Cozy Cove a 'top dog' for Bark in the Park

Cozy Cove Realty is joining Cadence Bank as a "Top Dog" Sponsor for the 2007 Bark in the Park Dog Festival on Saturday, June 16 at both Meeks Park and the Union County Dog Park.

Lisa Skomp, owner/broker said, "Our agents and employees are all big animal lovers and we have continually supported the Humane Society. We challenge all the realtors in Towns and Union Counties to raise funds by running in the races or by gathering pledges for the 2k PUPSTRUT. The 5k RUN FOR ROVER, the 1k KIDS FOR CANINES, the PUPSTRUT and the festival will all be great fun and a wonderful day for you and your dog."

The 5k and 1k people races begin at 8a.m. in Meeks Park near Pavilion #4. After the awards ceremony, the festivities switch over to the Union County Dog Park, adjacent to North Georgia Tech, where the 2k PUPSTRUT Pledge Walk-a-thon begins at 10 a.m. and will pit teams of dogs and their owners against one another as they vie to raise the largest amount of money for the Shelter.

Bark in the Park contests include Pet/Owner Look-a-Like, Trick, Best Costume, Biggest/Smallest and Water Stick Retrieval. Cadence employees will choose the "Best in Show." In addition, Humane Society Mountain Shelters (HSMS) will offer 1/2 price microchipping and the Doggie Bistro will serve both humans and dogs. There will be fantastic raffle prizes and the annual Dog Blessing.

"Best in Show" sponsors BRODI, Indian Springs Water, WolfCreek Broadcasting, Mountain Graphics and "Top Dog" sponsors, Cozy Cove Realty and Lake Chatuge Animal Hospital join Cadence Bank to make this event a reality.

"Faithful Companion" sponsors include Belleview Furnishings, Arne's Auto Services, Mountain Health Food, Union County and Enviroclean. In addition to sponsoring, Blairsville Realty's David Hancock will bring his faithful companion, 3 year old English Bulldog, DEUCE, who is the great-great grandson of the University of Georgia's UGA IV, to the festival. Season's Flurries, HeirLoom Images, Budget Blinds, Tucker's on the Square, Daisy and Fritz Reif, Roger and Betty Foss, Donna and Bobcat Williams offered their support at the Paw Print" level. All the sponsors encourage folks to come join the fun. For race details and further information check www.brodi.net/pupstrut, www.iadoptapet.org, or call the Shelter 706-781-3843.
