14U Panthers win fastpitch tourney

The 14U Panthers Fastpitch softball team played in the USFA tournament on April 28-30 against 13 other teams from the north GA and metro Atlanta area.

The Panthers played seven games over the three days, with a record of 6-1, winning the tournament. The Panthers batting average for the tournament was .349, scoring 40 runs in the seven games. The Panther pitching held the opposing teams to a .169 batting average and only allowing 14 runs in seven games.

The Panthers have played 30 games this spring in seven tournaments,winning two of these tournaments. The girls on this team make a lot of sacrifices, like giving up their weekends to play at this level to prepare them for the high school season. The team is made up of the following players and coaches: Head Coach David Seabolt, Coach Terry Kelley, Coach Steve Odom, Coach Tony Hamby, Billie Odom, Angie Hughes, Courtney McCune, Tori Dyer, Rebecca Merritt, Kaitlyn Seabolt, Whitney Kelley, Whitney Cook, Callie Dyer, Kristin Hamby, and Kim Garrett.
