Kids Fishing Rodeo at Vogel State Park

On Saturday, June 9, 2007 Vogel State Park will host a "Kids Fishing Rodeo." Fishing will be allowed by kids only from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. The program is designed to get kids and their families involved in the healthy sport of fishing. Vogel Volunteers and staff will be helping with baiting hooks, giving out bait and taking fish off the hooks. A limited supply of loaner rods/poles, corn and worms will be available, so please bring your own if possible. Registration will begin shortly before 8 a.m. in front of Vogel's Visitors Center under the tent. All kids 12 and under are encouraged to attend. Prizes and t-shirts that are donated by local businesses will be given out to the children. Vogel State Park is located 11 miles south of Blairsville on Georgia Highway 129. No charge for the program, but there is a $3.00 parking fee per vehicle.
