Mardell Black Mrs. Mardell Black 87, of Dahlonega, Ga., died Friday May 10, 2007 at the Gold City Convalescent Center in Dahlonega. Mrs. Black was a native of Union County, Ga., who had lived in Lumpkin County for most of her life. She was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lumpkin Co. She was the daughter of the late David and Nettie Moss Ridley and was also preceded in death by her husbands, W.I. Carder and Bud Black; son, Henry Carder; brother, Guy Ridley; sisters, Mozelle Grizzle and Frances Edge. Mrs. Black is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Martha and Herbert Grizzle of Dahlonega, Mary Lou Carder of Pickens, S.C.; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Rev. Jerry Whitlock officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin Co. Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements. |
