Water is essential for good health Water makes up 75% of your brain, 22% of bones, 75% of muscles plus working with your circulatory and digestive systems. This is water we're talking about, not coffee, soft drinks, or juice. Water keeps your energy up, weight down, muscles strong, joints supple and digestive system smooth. Eight glasses a day is recommended. Research by Harvard and Ohio State doctors found that men who drink at least six glasses of water daily have half the risk of those who have less than one glass of water a day, no matter what else they drink. Experts say that drinking water before, during and after exercising is the best way to go. A full glass before exercising (even walking), at least sips every 10 minutes during, and two more glasses after exercise. |
