'Paws to Read' Book Drive Books...Books...Books...We need books! Humane Society Mountain Shelter Thrift Store manager, Trish Spear, and official "book lady" volunteer, Pamela Wright, do a booming business in books, however, they are running low on inventory. In 2006, young Sara Sidelinger brought in 17 boxes of books she had collected in her Roswell, Ga., neighborhood and the late Dr. Tony Muir's extensive collection was donated by his wife, Judy. The sales resulted in quite a financial contribution to H.S.M.S. During May and continuing through the summer, we are asking that you check your inventory of book and consider donating to the H.S.M.S. Thrift Stores in Blairsville and Hiawassee. Hardbacks, paperbacks, cookbooks, magazines and childrens' books are great sellers. Suggestion: If you work for a company with an employee website, ask if you could advertise "Paws to Read" to collect books. Contact Trish or Lynn at the thriftstore (706-745-0033) for assistance. |
