Mary Elizabeth Pierce

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Pierce, 72, of Suches, Ga., died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at her residence following a short illness.

Mrs. Pierce lived most of her life in Suches. She was a homemaker and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Suches.

She was the daughter of the late John Conley Burnett Sr. and Mattie Virginia Jarrard Burnett and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Pierce Jr.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Pierce of Suches, Ga., Mike and Jeanett Pierce, Suches, Ga.; brothers, Junior Burnett and Arthur Burnett, both of Suches; grandchildren, Jessica Pierce and Chris Pierce; a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Zion Baptist Church in Suches with Rev. Russell Lyle officiating.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
