Effie Lorene Rich Payne

Mrs. Effie Lorene Rich Payne, 90, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, Ga., died Sunday, April 22, 2007.

Mrs. Payne was born Monday, April 16, 1917 in Union County, Ga., to the late Landon Rich and Melvina Flowers Rich. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Loyd Payne; brothers, Floyd, L.A., Fred, Ernest, Marshall and Elbert Rich; and sister, Louria Hunt.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lanier and Joan Payne of Blairsville; grandson, Eric Landon Payne and Millie of Lexington, Kentucky; great-grandson, Franklin Lloyd Payne, also of Lexington; several nieces and nephews, and many friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Cline

officiating. Music was provided

by Odena Gibson and the

Union County Singers.

Interment followed in

Pleasant Grove Baptist

Church Cemetery.

Lewis, Charles Brackett,

Homer Powell, Wayne

Roberts and Presley Rich. Honorary pallbearers were Troy King and Willie Long.
