Look around for blooms soon to come

Butterfly Weed > This bright orange, starshaped cluster of flowers stands out along our mountain roads, blooming from June to September.
Jerusalem Artichoke Up and down our roadways, you will see this common plant. It ranges in size from 3 to 10 ft. tall with the flowerhead being 2-4 inches wide. You should look for flowerheads yellow, with long ray flowers around flat central disk, loosely clustered at top of hairy, branching stem, leaves in pairs, oval to lance-shaped and toothed. The artichoke is common to moist fields, open woods, thickets, waste places and bootomlands. Look for it to bloom August to October.
