 | | Jerusalem Artichoke Up and down our roadways, you will see this common plant. It ranges in size from 3 to 10 ft. tall with the flowerhead being 2-4 inches wide. You should look for flowerheads yellow, with long ray flowers around flat central disk, loosely clustered at top of hairy, branching stem, leaves in pairs, oval to lance-shaped and toothed. The artichoke is common to moist fields, open woods, thickets, waste places and bootomlands. Look for it to bloom August to October. |
