"Herb Gardening" - Herb Gardening Seminar
Herbs, more commonly classified as "the useful plants", are a must in every garden. Herbs delight our senses with their pleasant fragrances, their unique flavors, their medicinal/healing properties and their lovely flowers. Agarden without herbs lacks the diversity and interest that these plants can bring to our every day life. Come and learn how to establish an organic herb garden. The class will address site selection, soil testing, soil preparation and fertilization, herb selection, theme gardening with herbs, and how to utilize these fascinating plants in cooking, crafting, medicine making and more.
This seminar is FREE and is limited to the first 100 registrants.
Herb Gardening - Handson Workshop
Put your knowledge into action by planting an herb garden next to the Jarrett/Apple House on the grounds of the Georgia Mountain Research and Education Center. Participants will receive first hand instruction and demonstration on soil preparation, garden bed design, organic fertilizers and organic pest and disease control techniques. Together, we will plant the herb garden, so bring a hat, trowel and gloves! Each person will select a variety of herb plants to take home and plant in their home garden.
Please note: This Herb Gardening Hands0on Workshop has a $15 fee and is limited to the first fifteen registrants. Registration is held only with a check made payable to "Jennifer Cordier", along with the attached registration form.
