Mountain Presbyterian Church (USA) to Hear Rivers of the World's President, Ben Mathes On Wed May 9, the founder and president of Rivers of the World, Ben Mathes, will be speaking at the Wonderful Wednesday program at Mountain Presbyterian Church (USA). A covered dish dinner will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 5:15 to 6:00 pm and the program will run from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Everyone in the community who is interested in or would like to learn more about helping the needy throughout the world are invited to attend. Rivers of The World (ROW) is a n o t - f o r - p r o f i t Christian ministry that targets remote river basins. As Ben has said, "Our goal is to serve; realizing that it is their country, their people, their village, but our problem. We will never do for others what they can do for themselves, but will work in a partnership based upon mutual love, grace, and respect." ROW projects run the gamut of human, physical and spiritual needs. Academics, research, education and medical/dental concerns go hand in hand with church planting, construction, evangelism and Bible distribution. Everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to participate in any or all activities of "Wonderful Wednesdays". You may come for just one of the studies, come for dinner and one study, or come for the entire Wednesday evening session. You are always welcome at Mountain Presbyterian Church, located on the north side of Highway 76 half way between Blairsville and Young Harris. For more information call 706 745-8036. |
