RAINER'S RAMBLINGS
Questions for readers

By RAINER ARNOLD Union Sentinel Publisher

Last week I wrote a Ramblings about too much retail space and what kind of stores that might go in there. Well, not only have I come up with a great idea for a business but a question for the readers of the Union Sentinel.

Several years ago I purchased a wall clock in Berlin, Germany, at an antique mart. This clock has great carvings and such on the outside and it dates back to 1896. I have had it refinished by a friend who is in the refinishing business. It really looks good, but I want the inside cleaned and I need a wind up key for it. I have checked with a bunch of people in Union and Towns counties and have found no one that knows a clock repair person.

So, I thought I might enlist the help of our readers and see if there is anyone out there that knows anything about old clocks. If not, maybe someone knows someone elsewhere that might be interested in moving here and starting their own business repairing clocks.

I would love to be able to hang this clock at my house or my office. But I feel strange hanging it up with it not working right. So, if you would be so kind as to e-mail me I would certainly appreciate it very much. And even if you don't know anyone directly, if you would ask your friends. Somebody has to know someone that fix this old clock of mine so I can make it useful and allow people to enjoy the beauty of this old, ornate clock.
