Gray Panthers beat Fannin Generals in double header

The Gray Panthers Senior Softball Team sprang out of winter hibernation with two wins against the Fannin County Generals. Due to inclement weather, the season opener was delayed until this past Sunday. The Panthers have acquired some younger players (still must be over 50) and coupled with some awesome defense was able to hold the Generals at bay. The first game of the double header ended with the Panthers on top 17 to 6 and the second was Panthers 12 and Generals 6.

Gorilla hitters were Ron Massucco who went 7 for 8 with a homerun; Bob Pittman 6 for 8; and Vince Rizzitello was 3 for 6 with a triple.

The Gray Panthers play a double header each Sunday at Meeks Park starting at 2:30 p.m. They are generously sponsored by ZAXBY'S and Union Realty.
