Cabinet Meeting and Dist. Convention- Lions Vic Hamburger, Betty Gurr, Gene Little, Arthur Gurr, Ken Castle and Lisa Little.
Toccoa Lions Club recently hosted the annual District 18-D Convention followed by the third 18-D Cabinet meeting with a large group of Lions representing the 39 Lions Clubs in 18-D. Attending from Union County Lions Club were President Ken Castle, First Vice President Lisa Little, Secretary Betty Gurr, Membership Chair Gene Little, Directors Arthur Gurr and Louise Little, and club member Vic Hamburger.

Lion Ann Mundy of the Dahlonega Lions Club presided at the convention with the following two Lions voted in the two key positions: current Vice President Governor Ruth Payton of Toccoa Lions Club to District 18-D Governor for 2007-2008 Lions year and Lion Richard "Dick" Smith, current Zone 2 Chairman, Region 1, of the Oconee Lions Club to Vice District Governor for 2007-2008 Lions year.

The third cabinet meeting followed the 18-D Convention with reports from the various zones as the end of this 2006-2007 Lions year is fast approaching. The fourth and final cabinet meeting will be May 6, 2007 at Helen, Ga., which will also include the annual 18-D picnic. This is always a family affair and enjoyed by all who attend.

Lions have fun and fellowship, however, they are privileged to serve those in need in their local communities, state, nation and the world. That is why the Lion motto is "We serve."
