OASIS hosts Ga. Diabetes Foundation Chairman

Bob Taylor of Blairsville, Chairman and Founder of the Diabetes Foundation of Georgia, gave the lunch bunch a very informative presentation on the need to spread his message about the state program to supply a special license plate to alert any would-be first responders that a seemingly impaired driver may be having diabetic complications. Anyone wishing more information should phone him at 706-781-7777 or go to his website at www.georgiadiabetes. org.

Thursday, April 26, OASIS will be entertained by the Union County High School Jazz Band, directed by Kerry Rittenhouse. We always enjoy hearing our local kids play their great music for us.

Anyone in the community who wishes to join OASIS for lunch on any Thursday is invited to do so by phoning Ruth Twedt at 706-781-6724 no later than the previous Saturday for reservations. Our delicious hot lunches are catered by Cook's Country Kitchen and cost just $5 per person. We meet at First United Methodist Church of Union County just west of Blairsville on Hwy 76.
