Little Singing Stars aim to make big impact

A group of local children, ranging from 4 to 10 years old, are set to sing their little hearts out to help children and families in their community. Singing Stars for a Better World will host their 2007 Showcase debut from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Towns County School Auditorium.

The cost of this event is $5 for adults and $1 for children, and proceeds will go to Support in Abusive Family Emergencies, Inc. Guests may pay at the door. The purpose of the event, titled

Kids Helping Other Kids," is to give the young stars from Towns and Clay Counties a chance to showcase their talents to their friends, family and the community. Raising money to help other children and families in the area is another bonus for these singers, who love to perform for an audience.

Singing Stars for a Better World have been an inspiration everywhere they perform, under the encouragement and guidance of Director Robbie Dernehl. These singing dynamos are known to bring smiles to the faces of those in assisted living, retirement and nursing homes, as well as at Rotary lunches and other community events.

Don't miss this chance to help S.A.F.E. provide support, advocacy and emergency shelter to victims of domestic abuse, child abuse and sexual abuse, regardless of gender, and to heighten community awareness of such abuse in Towns and Union Counties. Just by attending this event, you will be helping those who need a hand up as they face a difficult time in their lives.
