UCB supports Woody Gap Field Trip
United Community Bank recently provided a grant to Woody Gap that will enable the school's 4th & 5th graders to attend the 4-H Marine Studies facility @ Jekyll Island, GA.
The field trip will be held April 18th - 20th. Classes include: Maritime Forest, Beach Ecology, Marsh Ecology, Dock Study, Invertebrate Studies, Seining & Nets, Herpetology, Orienteering, Ornithology, Fish Adaptations, Bioscope, slough, sand lab, and plankton Lab. Most classes are hands-on and held out-of-doors during the day, while at night they are in the lab.
This year Colton Andersen, son of United's Lori Andersen will be attending and getting his first exposure to the science program at Woody Gap School.
