Dubconscious to perform Being Green is at the forefront of the media these days with Earth Day fast approaching on April 22. To celebrate the planet, many bands will be hitting the road soon to perform at various Green concerts. Dedicated to the fundamental doctrines that reggae is based upon, Dubconscious incorporate social and environmental awareness into both their lyrics and live performances, delivering their messages with infectious rhythms and exuberance. The group lives up to their missives offstage as well, traveling to concerts in a biodiesel-fueled tour bus and using only organic cotton for their tour t-shirts and other merchandise. Dubconscious will play April 19 at Young Harris College in Young Harris. Road warriors who have established a sizable following over the past several years, Dubconscious' current tour will also include stops at some of the biggest festivals in music including Bonnaroo, Reggae on the River, the Langerado Music Festival (FL) and Reggae on the Rocks (CO). Recently, the band was hand selected to tour with two of today's most important reggae artists, Michael Franti and the Mad Professor. |
