YHC scores big win The Young Harris Mountain Lions were clicking on all cylinders against Cleveland State, easily winning the game 13-1. Freshman Mark Swanson threw shutout baseball through the first six innings, before finally allowing one run to score in the seventh. He struck out six batters on the day. The Mountain Lions offense scored thirteen runs on thirteen hits, including a seven run outburst in the bottom half of the sixth inning. The power hitting of the offense was on full display, with homeruns coming from Stephen McCray, Mark Thomas, and Matt Sanders. Sanders and Thomas ended up with two hits each, while McCray went 3 for 3. 10 games remain in the 2007 season. The Mountain Lions have a three game conference series with Georgia Perimeter at Zell B. Miller Field over the weekend. This weekends conference games include an April 13th Friday night match up with Georgia Perimeter starting at 6:00. Two seven inning games will be played Saturday starting at 2 pm against Perimeter. Wednesday's game against Blue Ridge CC in Hendersonville, NC has been cancelled. Next weeks games include a home mid week matchup with Hiawassee CC starting at 6pm on Wednesday, April 18th. The Mountain Lions will travel to Albany, Georgia over the weekend to face Darton College on the 21st and 22nd of April. Young Harris will continue its road trip on April 24th when the take on conference foe Truett-McConnell for a mid week match up in Cleveland, Georgia starting at 3pm. The Mountain Lions will need to switch gears quick as they play conference opponent Georgia Perimeter the next day at 4pm. Georgia Perimeter will travel to Young Harris to play the last conference game of the regular season before the region tournament on May 4-6. The Mountain Lions will host Blue Ridge CC on May 1st at 7pm at Zell B. Miller Complex to complete the regular season schedule.
