On March 31st Blairsville's Boy Scout Troop 101 provided service support for the Kindred Spirits Conference at the House of Prayer in Blairsville. The conference was a gathering of approximately 100 people involved in Christian ministry and missions to Native American tribal organizations from the Carolinas to the Midwest.
The Scouts assisted by leading in a US flag presentation and the Pledge of Allegiance. Additionally they helped serve the lunch meal, assisted in meal preparation and clean up. The Boy Scouts of America include community service requirements as part of their rank advancement. The goal is to build a Scout's commitment to their community and nation while developing their leadership abilities.
The Boy Scouts of Troop 101 welcome other young men from the ages of 11 to 17 to get involved in Scouting. For more information about Scouting please contact John Preston at 706-745-9513.
