Louise McTaggart & Associates gives $1K to Community Council Campaign

Louise McTaggart & Associates has given $1,000 to the "Partners in Service" Campaign of the Community Council of the GMRE Center. In making the announcement, Louise McTaggart, Owner/Broker of the firm, said, "As a former educator and longtime resident of our beautiful mountain region, I am pleased and impressed with the Council's track record of providing educational enrichment experiences for our region's students and adults. My associates and I also feel that the work of the Council's Preservation Committee is particularly important to our fast-growing area. Their plant rescue project to help save endangered species native to our region is serving an important role in preserving our mountain heritage."

Louise McTaggart & Associates has become one of the most successful real estate firms in the area. Louise and her associates are noted for their professionalism and friendly service. Their knowledge of the Northeast Georgia and Southwestern North Carolina mountain area enables them to find the right properties for their clients and customers.

A native of Hayesville, N.C., Louise was an educator for 14 years and then a business owner in Hiawassee for 13 years. She moved to Blairsville in 1987 and became a realtor. Louise opened her own office in 1996.

In receiving the gift, Lou Ann Bleakley, Chairman of the Community Council, said, "We appreciate Louise's continuing support of the Council's efforts at the Georgia Mountain Research and Education Center. She has been one of our most generous friends from the very beginning. Louise is also one of our best advocates. We appreciate her service on the Campaign Steering Committee of the 'Partners in Service' Campaign."

In less than three years of operation, the Council has served over 8,000 students and adults from Union, Towns, Clay and Fannin counties. Last year over 200 volunteers assisted the three program committees with their programs and activities.
