Union County High School freshman off to a solid start

Union County School Board chairman Jerry Dyer presenting certificate of appreciation to Morgan Bentley.
The Union County School Board recently recognized Union County High School freshman Morgan Bentley, at a board meeting for obtaining perfect scores in all of her first semester classes. Morgan finished with 100's in all four of her classes including Honors English. In two classes she averaged over the 100 grade point scale. Due to grading regulations, she could only be awarded 100s in those classes. Morgan credited her great start in high school to several of her middle school teachers who helped prepare her with a solid foundation and time management skills.

One particular teacher was Mrs. Paige Pope, whose preparation was invaluable for high school English. Morgan pulled these perfect grades while also participating in varsity basketball cheerleading and the Tri- County Junior Golf Tour. Morgan travels this spring to Washington, DC for the National Congressional Youth Leadership Conference. She is the daughter of Tsali and Jacque Bentley of Blairsville, and the granddaughter of Jo George of Blairsville and Mary Jeanne Bentley of Waynesboro, Ga.
