Reaching the other side of the world Since 1995, Dr. Larry Flegle and his wife Jan have led a non-profit organization that provides housing, food, clothing and education for 72 Hmong and Mien Yao children in Northern Thailand. Larry and Jan raised over $1,000,000 through their foundation, The Missionary Quartermaster, Inc. It all came as a result of Larry and Jan visiting their friends Dr. John and Linda Gibson, missionaries to Thailand. Larry saw a need and came home and looked for ways to satisfy the need. All of the children attend ESL classes after school. Learning English will help them get good paying jobs in importexport. Dr. Flegle says there is no greater joy than doing something for someone else. Dr. Larry Flegle is the Director of Education, Andrew Jackson University, Birmingham, Alabama. He lives in Blairsville, Georgia. |
