Local Lions receive 'dynamic' education Gene and Louise Little, two outstanding Union County Lions Club members, recently attended a very unique workshop in Jasper, Ga. The first time ever Dynamic Lions Workshop was geared toward more effective membership within each Lions Club and increased effectiveness in the local communities. Some of the topics covered at the workshop started at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. were as follows: What prevents your club from being dynamic?; Relevance of Your Club to the Community; Building a Club Program; Managing Club Governing; Building Leaders to Address the Challenge; Motivating Members to do more; Age and Gender Issues; Overworking vs. Underworking; Leaving Club meetings feeling good; and even the brief 45-minute lunch break was about Fostering Fellowing Among Diverse People. Receiving Certificates of Completion, Lions Gene and Louise returned from this Dynamic Workshop truly inspired. In fact, several suggestions are being implemented into the Union County Lions Club. They are a mentoring program, a leadership committee and a club retreat. Longtime Lion Mark Miller of the Jasper Lions Club was the Coordinator of the Workshop. Truly, the results of this workshop and the implementing of even more programs will help Union County Lions Club to better emulate the Lions Motto: We Serve. |
