Do you need a ride to and from your treatment sessions? A lack of transportation should not be the reason why cancer patients do not receive the life-saving cancer treatment they need. The American Cancer Society offers their Road to Recovery program to help transport cancer patients to and from their treatment. The Society has a toll-free number that you may call, and an operator will put you in touch with local volunteers that give cancer patients without personal transportation rides to and from their cancer treatment sessions. A place to share your thoughts and feelings and grow together with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Baseball Instructional Camps 2007 Baseball Instructional Camps @ Young Harris College dates have been set and registration is open for June. Four baseball camps are being offered. June 11 - 15 & June 25-29 are both full day camps (9-3 daily) for boys and girls ages 6-12. Two half-day camps have also been scheduled both for June 18-21 (8:30-12:20 daily, boys and girls ages 6-12) & (1:00 - 4:00pm daily, boys ages 13-18). Blairsville Youth Bowlers Carwash The Blairsville Youth Bowlers will be having a carwash in the parking lot of the Ingles in Blairsville. The carwash will be on Saturday, April 24 at 1 p.m. The Youth Bowlers are doing this as a fundraiser to help raise money to go the Georgia State Youth Tournament. Donations will be accepted. We would like to thank Mr. Rick Davis and Ingles for the use of their parking lot and all of those who come out to show their support. Homeschool Senior Trip Fundraiser On Saturday March 31, the seniors from GRACE Homeschool Cooperative will be having a cruise-in (car show) in the parking lot at Advance Auto Parts in Murphy. Food will be available. All profits will go towards their senior trip. Cars, trucks, motorcycles or semi's will be welcome. It will begin at 3 p.m. and last till whenever. "Son-rise Service" An Easter "Son-rise" service for the community will be held on Easter morning, April 8, at 7:00 AM at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds upper pavilion. The Rev. Fred Whitley, Campus Minister at Young Harris College, will bring the powerful Easter message at this special service. Bring lawn chairs, dress warmly, and come celebrate the Resurrection as day breaks over the lake and the mountains. Holy Week services at Coosa UMC You are invited to join the community of faith at the Coosa United Methodist Church for Holy Week and Easter services and activities. Sunday, April 1 at 6 p.m. you are invited to a Fellowship Meal and evening of games.
