Union County American Cancer Society cancer survivors invited to Celebration April 10

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Union County will be hosting the 2007 Cancer Survivors Dinner Celebration on Tuesday, April 10th at 5:30 p.m. in the conference center of the North Georgia Technical College Blairsville Campus.

Survivors Activity Chair Stacy Head announced that the annual event will honor all area cancer survivors," whether they are survivors for one day or over 40 years," she added. "Our volunteers and Relay For Life teams for 2007 will be on hand to welcome each cancer survivor and their guest to the "Walk Through History, Look How Far We've Come" event.

Invitations were recently mailed out by the volunteers. " We may have omitted some people or we may have used the incorrect addresses , but we are still inviting anyone who is a cancer survivor and did not receive the invitation this year to join us on April 10th," stated Mrs. Head. Please reserve a seat for you and one guest by calling 706-745-1045 or emailing to stacyhead@alltel.net as soon as possible.

"It's about being a community that takes up the fight against cancer," stated longtime American Cancer Society volunteer Vee Laffoon. "Our community has shown strong suppport for our cancer survivors each year. Our Relay For Life teams and supporters want to honor as many of our "fighters" as possible, so please call Stacy Head at the above listed number," added Mrs. Laffoon, local volunteer coordinator for the Road To Recovery Transportation Program offered by the American Cancer Society.
