Narcotics Anonymous

Road to Recovery

Are you a cancer patient? Do you need a ride to and from your treatment sessions? A lack of transportation should not be the reason why cancer patients do not receive the life-saving cancer treatment they need. The American Cancer Society offers their Road to Recovery program to help transport cancer patients to and from their treatment. The Society has a toll-free number that you may call, and an operator will put you in touch with local volunteers that give cancer patients without personal transportation rides to and from their cancer treatment sessions. Give them a call at 1-800- ACS-2345.

Bereavement Support Group

Welcome to a community bereavement support group. A place to share your thoughts and feelings and grow together with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

GWRRA meets

Chapter J of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) meets the third Saturday of each month at Daniel's Steak House in Hiawassee. Lunch is at 11 a.m. and the meeting is at noon.

Friends of NRA to hold dinner, auction

Friends of the NRA will hold a dinner and auction on Saturday, March 31, at the National Guard Armory in Murphy on US 29/129 N. Good Neighbors Auto Club

The next meeting of the Good Neighbors Auto Club will be Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the Cookie Jar Restaurant in Blairsville, Ga. Come early to fellowship and enjoy your dinner. American Cancer Society classes

Look Good Feel Better Class to be offered on Tuesday, March 27th at 2 p.m. in Blairsville. Any women cancer patients who are experiencing hair loss or skin changes will want to sign up for this free class. Call 1-800-ACS-2345 to pre-register. The class will include instructions on skin and makeup as well as opportunities to learn about scarves, wigs, etc. This is an American Cancer Society patient services program that is supported by your Relay For Life donations.

Book Sale at Branan Lodge

Branan Lodge will hold its annual Book Sale on March 23 and 24. The Book Sale will take place in the dining room, just off the main lobby. On March 23, the sale will be from noon-6 p.m. On March 24 the sale will be from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. There will be books in every category, plus some very interesting non-fiction. Plan to come by and browse. The public is cordially invited to come by as well as Lodge and Village residents.

Baseball Instructional Camps

2007 Baseball Instructional Camps @ Young Harris College dates have been set and registration is open for June. Four baseball camps are being offered. June 11 - 15 & June 25-29 are both full day camps (9-3 daily) for boys and girls ages 6-12. Two half-day camps have also been scheduled both for June 18-21 (8:30-12:20 daily, boys and girls ages 6-12) & (1:00 - 4:00pm daily, boys ages 13-18).
