2007 American Cancer Society Memorial Service Sunday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. is the Memorial Service which the Union County chapter of the American Cancer Society holds annually to honor and remember special family members and friends. The service this year will be held at the Brackett Community Room located behind the United Community Bank at 59 Hwy. 515. Special persons will have brass plaques dedicated that day. This memorial service culminates the "Daffodil Days" sponsored by the local ACS unit. After a devotional by Ben Lewis, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Union County, Memorials Chairperson Sue Upchurch will present plaques to the families or friends of: Herbert Arnold, Don E. Bailey, Barbara Christman, Charlie Nelson, Mary Thompson, Juanita T. Walburn. Friends and families are urged to attend this special service. Brass plaques that are dedicated will be placed on the American Cancer Society's Memorial Board in the lobby of the Union General Hospital. The brass plaques represent a donation of $100 to the American Cancer Society. The funds will be used for patient services, education, advocacy and research.
