Ruth Eleanor Palmer

Mrs. Ruth Eleanor Palmer, 86, of Jones Creek Rd., Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Port Ritchie, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 in the Murphy Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Palmer was born Dec. 31, 1920 in Brockton, Mass., the daughter of the late Clarence Garnett and the late Agnus Inquist Garnett. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Palmer in 2001; son, William Palmer Jr.; sister, Maraim Day; brothers, Earl, Clarence Jr. and Ronald Garnett. Mrs. Palmer was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Palmer are sons and daughter-inlaw, Phillip and Ann Palmer of Sun City, Ariz., Marshall Palmer of Abbington, Mass.; brother, Neil Garnett of Statesville, N.C.; sister, Faith Woods of Plymouth, Mass.; nine grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Mrs. Palmer's memory.
