Grace Community Presbyterian Church to hold Mission Conference

March 8-11 has been chosen as the dates for the 2007 Mission Conference of the Grace Community Presbyterian Church.

Keynote speaker is Dr. Tom Hale, M.D. Dr. Hale is a surgeon and author who served with his wife, Dr. Cynthia Hale, M.D. (a Pediatrician, concert pianist and public health educator), in a remote mission hospital in Nepal from 1970-1996. Dr. Cynthia Hale, a graduate of Juliard, will give several piano performances during the conference.

Maria and Jetty De La Varga are serving in Equador and will share their mission the conference.

Brad, Jenny, Matthew and Meagan Surfus will explain how they are preparing now for a mission in the bush country of northern Kenya.

Scott Hunt, with C.O.P.I.N. Ministries, was a college athlete who was accidentally left with a traumatic brain injury. He will show the Conference how God has turned his trauma into a triumph.

The Mission Conference is open to the entire multi-county community served by the Church. It will begin on Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m. with a Chili Supper at the Church, 1700 Young Harris Hwy, about Service led by Dr. Tom Hale will follow in the Sanctuary at 7 p.m.

Friday night feature a Worship Service at 7 p.m.

A Men's Breakfast, a Lady's Luncheon and two home meetings will highlight activities on Saturday, March 10.

The Mission Conference concludes with Dr. Hale preaching at the 10:45 a.m. Worship Service on Sunday, March 11.
