Celebrate the Arrival of Spring with Jazz In The Vineyard When spring comes to the North Georgia Mountains after a long winter's sleep; the vineyards begin to unfurl into long, tangled leaves of every hue of green and it's time for the reopening of Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery. The arrival of spring is announced with a series of wine-related events and happenings in the countryside of Dahlonega. Each Sunday throughout March (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th), celebrate the release of Wolf Mountain's new vintage of estate awardwinning wines while enjoying the mellow sounds of live jazz during the "Jazz in the Vineyard" Brunch. Sundays in April (1st, 15th, 22nd, 29th , including Easter), offer the 5th annual "Awakening of the Vines" festivities with a toe-tapping Blue Grass Brunch. Brunch at the Vineyards, which includes wine pairings, is $30 per person; seatings for all brunch events are at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. , and reservations are required. For reservations and information call Wolf Mountain Vineyards at 1.706.482.9982. With a strong emphasis on class and elegance - and a combination of Old World rustic décor - Wolf Mountain's fieldstone encased winery provides sweeping views of the hauntingly beautiful southern Appalachian Mountains. Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery is open for wine tastings Thursday - Sundays, March 1 until December 16, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day. Wine tastings are $10 per person; educational cellar tours and tasting, priced at $15 are available on Saturday and Sunday only, each tasting includes a souvenir glass. The Vineyard Café is open for lunch Thursday (limited menu), Friday and Saturday each week from noon until three; sixcourse gourmet winemaker dinners with wine pairings and other special events for up to 250 are available. With a philosophy of winemaking more European than Californian, the Boegner family incorporates French oak aging with an emphasis on blending grape varietal to achieve more complexity. Wolf Mountain's Appalachian vineyard estate has more than five thousand hand-planted, hand-pruned 100-percent Georgia Mountain-grown vines of European vinifera grapes, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvedre, Tannat, Petite Verdot, Malbec, and Touriga Nacional. The grapes, naturally vine-ripened to perfection, are then blended to produce their award-winning estate vinos. Spread over 25 acres of hilly, sun-splashed terrain and situated at a lofty, cool elevation of almost two thousand feet, Wolf Mountain's location is perfect for growing grapes that produce these fine, exotically complex award-winning wines: Plenitude, a crisp, dry stainless steel-aged blend of Chardonnay and Viognier. Chanteloup, a reserve blend of French oak-aged Chardonnay and Viognier. Sunset Rosé, a dry Rhone-style rosé, the perfect picnic wine. Coupage, a lighter-styled Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Instinct, an estate blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Touriga Nacional. Claret, a reserve Estate blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvedre. Seyval Demi-Sec, a semi-sweet German-style white wine. Areputation for excellence, a proven history of hospitality experience, and loads of mountain charm, all come together to make Wolf Mountain ideal for a vineyard wedding, private parties, special events, Sunday brunch, café luncheon, or gourmet dinner.
