McCray a force for YHC Mountain Lions
Game 1: Wallace Hanceville 4 - YHC 3

Down by one in the eighth inning the Lions rallied to tie the score on Michael Hornsby's single to left field. Despite evening the score the Mountain Lions stranded runners at first and second in the bottom of the eighth inning. Reliever Charles Matthews was brilliant in the last four innings of the ball game holding Wallace-Hanceville to two hits. Unfortunately the two hits came in the ninth inning as Wallace-Hanceville scored the winning run.

Jonathan King had a good day at the plate going 3-3 scoring one and driving in another. J.C. Lyons and Michael Hornsby had two hits a piece and each had 1 RBI. The Mountain Lions record falls to (4-8) with the loss. Five of the eight losses have been by one run.

Game 2: Okaloosa Walton 10 - YHC 2

The Mountain Lions next played against the host team Okaloosa Walton.

Young Harris scored two in the top of the first inning but were unable to stop the Okaloosa Walton Raiders. Okaloosa Walton scored two in the bottom of the first inning to even the score at 2. The Raiders followed by scoring runs in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth inning.

Michael Davitt pitched a complete game only allowing two hits and two runs for Okaloosa Walton.

Game 3: YHC 11 - Ct. Ala. 5

The Mountain Lions final game was against Central Alabama. The Lions won the final game of the Holiday-Inn Sunspree Classic against Central Alabama Community College by a score of eleven to five. Mike Markakis went 2-3 with three runs scored, while Matt Sanders and Zac Rhinesmith each had two hits and two RBI's.

Stephen McCray started the game on the mound for the Mountain Lions, and picked up the no-decision, despite 5 1/3 solid innings of work. McCray hit for himself, and went 2-4 with three RBI's. The Lions exploded for five runs in the top of the ninth inning, and Grimes Medlin closed the game to give Young Harris their first road win of the season. The Mountain Lions are now 5-9.
