Ray Harris Yarrington

Mr. Ray Harris Yarrington, 71, of Blairsville, Ga., died February 16, 2007 at the Emory 16, 2007 at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1935 in Richmond, Va., where he grew up and married Ethel in 1953. Ray and his wife moved to Vero Beach, Fla., in 1956, where they raised their four daughters. In 1993 they retired to Blairsville in the mountains of north Georgia where they enjoyed summer and holiday visits with their daughters families, including six grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Yarrington is his wife Ethel of Blairsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Yarrington of Blairsville, Mary Lou and Mark Odum of Roral Palm Beach, Fla., Laura and Donald Plante of Peachtree City, Ga., Linda Yarrington of Fort Mill,

S.C.; brother, Britt Yarrington of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren,

Emily and

Andrew Odum, Alex

and Amanda Cole and Stephen and Daniel

Plante.

Funeral services

were held Monday, Feb.

19, 2007 at 2 p.m. from

the funeral home chapel. Ray was cremated following

service. In lieu of flowers, the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Blairsville Humane Society in Mr. Yarrington's memory.
